about

This song has evolved through many incarnations. It was totally reinvented by Joe Boldizar and me at Retro City Studios in Germantown.
The song is about depression, and how sometimes there is no outside force can reach or affect someone who is struggling. Inertia is defined as a tendency to do nothing or remain unchanged. Those who have struggled with depression understand the crippling nature of it; how the smallest step seems impossible and painful.
The production of the track was meant to impart that feeling in sonic form; an attempt to capture those feelings of emptiness, melancholy, isolation, but also to crack it open and explore the stoic beauty and strength beneath the surface of pain.
I hope you enjoy.

More soon.

about

Kerry Hallett Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Kerry's songs fuse warm, velvety vocals with catchy, pop-folk
sensibilities. Her debut EP, released under the moniker Heart Harbor, was produced by Erin McKeown and hailed by WXPN's
The Key as "hearkening back to some of the best singer-songwriters in recent memory:
Brandi Carlile, Passenger, Tegan and Sarah, with a Jenny Lewis-ian sense of
arrangement and fearless genre-hopping."
